Shopify Development: common questions.
What does Shopify development include?
We turn the approved design into a working Shopify theme: custom sections and blocks, product and collection templates, navigation, filters, app integrations, metafields and testing across devices. We also set up the essentials you need to launch. Everything is built in your own Shopify account, so you own the theme and the store.
Do you build themes from scratch or customize existing ones?
Both, depending on the project. Often the best route is a solid, maintained theme as the foundation, with custom sections and templates for your design. It keeps the store fast, editable and easier to update. For highly unique projects we build more custom code. We'll recommend the approach after reviewing your design and requirements.
Can you integrate apps, ERPs or other tools with Shopify?
Yes. We install and configure Shopify apps, connect them to the theme and integrate tools like reviews, subscriptions, email marketing and inventory or ERP connectors where an app or API exists. Our take: we'll tell you when an app is overkill and a few lines of theme code will do.
Can you fix bugs on my existing Shopify store?
Yes. We handle bug fixing and smaller theme changes as well as full builds: broken layouts, app conflicts, cart or variant issues and leftover code from removed apps. We work on a duplicate of your theme, test the fix and then publish, so your live store isn't disrupted.
Will my store be fast?
Speed is part of how we build: optimized images, minimal app scripts, clean section code and no unnecessary libraries. Shopify serves images through its CDN in modern formats like WebP, but heavy apps and oversized media are still the most common slowdowns. We flag apps that hurt performance before you install them.
What do you need from me to start development?
An approved design, access to your Shopify store as a collaborator, your products (or a product export), brand assets and a list of apps or integrations you use. If you're new to Shopify, you create the store under your own account and we request collaborator access with your 4-digit code.
